Coach Grant Massey is a highly experienced Hitting and Infield Instructor with a deep background in both playing and coaching. A standout at Auburn High School from 2007 to 2011, he was a 2-time state champion and earned 3-time All-Region and All-State honors. Grant continued his success at Gordon State Junior College, reaching the JUCO World Series in 2012 and earning All-Conference recognition in 2013. His collegiate career at Lipscomb University included accolades such as being a Brooks Wallace Award finalist, Ken Dugan Award winner, 2-time ASUN All-Conference player, and ASUN Defensive Player of the Year in 2015.

Grant went on to play professionally for the Chicago White Sox organization, starting 150 games at shortstop across three Minor League levels and showcasing versatility by playing every infield position, finishing his career with a .251 batting average. Since beginning his coaching career in 2017, Grant has discovered a passion for coaching that even surpasses his love of playing. Specializing in infield development and hitting, he is dedicated to helping players reach their full potential through his knowledge and passion for the game.

What people are saying…

“Grant was a tremendous player, and someone I have a great deal of respect for. On the field, he was very well-rounded overall, but particularly special on the defensive side. It comes as no surprise that he is now able to impact young lives as a teacher of the game based on his knowledge and skillset.”
